OUR MISSION

To make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship Him, and find their greatest joy in His glory.

WHO WE ARE

More than a Building

The Church is not a building. The Church is not a place where people go once per week to feel spiritual, eliminate guilt, or attempt to make God happy. The Church is the body of Christ, made up of all people, worldwide, who profess Jesus alone as Savior and Lord. This means that The Church is not a place, but a people. A people united together to fulfill the mission of God and live for the glory of Jesus.

Church at The Well is a group of Christ-followers who unite together on mission, in loving community, to support one another in living solely for the glory of Jesus. We desire to serve one another, be a blessing to our community, spread the Gospel, and be agents of reconciliation within our city.

OUR VALUES

To make much of Jesus.

To stand on and live out Biblical truth.

To make and equip disciples of Jesus.

To serve and bless our community.

To partner with and plant like-minded churches.

What We Believe

  • We believe the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, in their original writings, are the inspired and inerrant Word of God. The Bible is to be believed, obeyed, and trusted as absolute truth for the total salvation and well-being of mankind.

  • We believe in one, holy, eternal, and personal God. He is the Creator of all things, who exists in a perfect, loving unity of three equally divine persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. For His glory and our joy, with limitless knowledge and sovereign power, God has graciously purposed, from the beginning of time, to redeem a people for Himself.

  • We believe that God created mankind in His own image. The first human beings, Adam and Eve, experienced perfect relationship with God and with one another. However, when tempted by Satan they sinned. Their sin separated them from God, and marred their relationship with one another. As a result, all human beings are sinners by nature and by choice, alienated from God, under His wrath, and condemned to be separated from Him for eternity. It is only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ that human beings can be saved, reconciled, and renewed.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is both fully God and fully man. Jesus, Israel’s promised Messiah, was conceived through the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and lived a sinless life in perfect obedience to the Father. He was crucified, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father as High Priest and Advocate for those who trust in Him alone as Savior and Lord.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ, as a representative and substitute, voluntarily gave His life as the perfect, all sufficient sacrifice for the sins of mankind. His death and victorious resurrection constitute the only ground for salvation. Those who repent and place all of their faith and trust in the person and saving work of Jesus alone are regenerated by the Holy Spirit, forgiven of sin, saved from condemnation, reconciled to God, and given eternal life. Salvation, the free gift of God, is provided by grace alone, through faith alone, because of Jesus alone.

  • We believe that the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus in all that He does. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates hearts, and, through the proclamation of the Gospel, persuades human beings to repent of their sins and trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord. He indwells, seals, illuminates, guides, equips, empowers, and sanctifies believers for Christ-like living and service.

  • We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body, united and empowered by the Holy Spirit, with Jesus as the head. It consists of all believers who are saved through faith in Jesus alone. The true church manifests itself through local church bodies comprised of believers who devote themselves to worship, prayer, the teaching of the Bible, fellowship, Communion, service, hospitality, the furtherance of the Gospel, the making of disciples, and obedience to God for the glory of Jesus.

  • We believe that God, through the Holy Sprit, provides believers with the power to live for the glory of God by becoming more like Jesus; bearing witness to the Gospel through word and deed. God commands believers to love Him above all else, to love others above themselves, and to live out their faith in Jesus with loving care for one another. With God’s Word, the Spirit’s power, and prayer in Jesus’ name, believers unite together to fulfill God’s mission.

  • We believe in the personal, bodily, powerful, and glorious return of Jesus. God will resurrect the dead and judge the world, condemning the unjust to eternal punishment and the just, in Jesus, to eternal blessedness and joy with Him, to the praise of His glorious grace. The imminent coming of Jesus, at a time known only to God, motivates the believer to Gospel living, sacrificial service, and energetic mission with passionate urgency.
